A nice project for a freezing cold January day! We made a huge mess making these little birds! But they are so bright and shiny and uplifting! We cut the bird shapes from card-stock and made little collages with old newspaper and scrapbook paper and old maps. Then we layered and layered and layered pink and blue and yellow tissue and gold shimmer Mod Podge with a tiny bit of glitter. Three are double birds on sticks whittled by the kids. One sits in a pretty nest woven of wool yarn scraps and two are patiently waiting for their nests to be made! They look great on our table.
